About Needles
-
- Needles,
formerly known as Chesapeake
Interlink, Ltd, is a privately held company founded by Burton L.
Bank, an entrepreneur who previously launched two other
businesses. Founded in 1982, the company originally existed as
a data processing service engaged in professional time-sharing.
It also provided customized software for mail order, retail
point-of-sale and organizational mailing list companies. The
product that would eventually become known as “Needles” has
always been attorney and customer focused. In 1984, Chesapeake
Interlink, Ltd.’s management team was approached by a group of
Personal Injury Attorneys desiring to implement a more efficient
law practice. Luckily, one of the company’s software designers
had a law degree! As a result, the company was able to develop
the nation’s first Case Management Software program, and its
earliest version was designed to meet the needs of litigation
attorneys.
-
- PINS,
(Personal Injury Negligence System), was launched in 1985 by
Chesapeake Interlink, Ltd. on the then current DOS operating
system. In 1995, the program’s Windows based version, Needles,
was released. The Needles name reflects the system’s expanded
usability which allows it to serve any type of case or matter
with high levels of user-defined customization.

Bryan
Billig was named President of Needles in the Fall of 2008. Mr
Billig, who purchased the company, brings to Needles his
business experience from the entertainment industry, where he
successfully developed and managed his own practice. A graduate
of Syracuse University, Bryan has been a personal friend of
founder and mentor Burt Bank for over twenty five years. He has
informally been a part of the company for many years prior to
his purchase. Mr. Billig brings both his understanding of the
company culture, a passion for business development and a fresh
outlook to the company. He looks forward to leading the next
generation of Needles.
-
- Needles has dedicated itself to the legal case management
software business by focusing on legal software. In fact, it
has served the legal profession by providing computer technology
and business software solutions for over twenty years. Its
software programs have been installed in over 1,500 firms,
including installations resulting from clients’ converting data
from other case management programs. Needles’ customers are
primarily comprised of attorneys, especially personal injury
practices, as well as insurance companies and governmental law
agencies.
-
- The
Needles customer experience is driven by the company’s continual
product improvement process. The heart of this process is the
company’s dedication to customer satisfaction, achieved through
yearly User Group meetings, extraordinary personal service and
support, a Client Advisory Board, respect for their customers
and the product love shared by both the company and its clients.
